The Pasargadtabac group started to take shape when a new idea from France was brought to Iran. This work and new idea are known in Iran by the name of Mr. Amirhossein Rahimi (Mastro Rahimi).

In 2010, the research, placement, and feasibility of this work were done and the activity of the group started in 2011. The name of the complex consists of the name of the world heritage complex of Pasargad and the French word Tabac which means tobacco.

Pioneers, opportunities, misuse, and good uses

It can be said that before the Pasargadtabak Group started working under the management of Mastro Rahimi more than a decade ago, the world of pipes, tobacco, and cigars and in general modern and luxury smoke in Iran was unknown and, in other words, foreign to the general public.

Public awareness of society was very limited, distorted, and incomplete, and it was only limited to the extent of childhood memories of the pipe smoking of our grandfathers who lived in a time far away from us and had different experiences, which is why they are more familiar with the luxury world of smoking, especially from the following generation’s knowledge of pipes and cigars!

Probably, the contemporary era in the world of pipes and cigars in Iran will be divided at the level of the general society into the era before and after the start of the Pasargadtabak group.

And consider this formation a turning point in Iran in the recent 50-year history of pipes and cigars. A great decision was made by Maestro Rahimi more than a decade ago based on reasons and has continued to this day with his management and guidance.

Starting, applying, and continuing the journey was accompanied by many challenges: designing a road map, organizing and creating a work environment, forming work groups, finding the right people, and managing work in various fields such as human resources, finance, etc. In all these years, facing all the challenges was constant and will remain.

Changing strategic policies, priorities, and goals, positioning and appointing different people, facing financial challenges, unexpected events such as the COVID-19 pandemic, social and political challenges, etc. in a managed way in order to progress and be on the path of growth and innovation and all of the daily difficulties and problems have been a part of the management of this complex.

The purpose of creating this collection was primarily to compensate for the backwardness of the general society from the global world of pipes and cigarettes based on science, awareness, and expertise and in sync with the events of today’s world, which may be said to be the biggest challenge during this path.

It is safe to say that dealing with ignorance lack of awareness and in many cases, stupidity in today’s societies is one of the biggest challenges, and in the work path of Pasargadtabak Group, the biggest cost has been in this direction: dealing with ignorance and raising awareness in the basis of today’s science and expertise.

In this field, people are divided into different groups:

A group who, without any intention or malice based on the requirements of society and the times, were far away from modern science in this field, and with a little pressure, they more or less followed the new path.

A group who was unable to accompany the new world due to their old age, willingly or unwillingly, and their preference was to remain in their old world.

A group, for various reasons, always initially opposes, and doesn’t accept the advancement and reception of new science and information.

There was also a group of people who were and are part of the stony and bigoted group and were not and are not ready to separate from their beliefs and superstitions, which are mostly based on a lack of knowledge.

Another group that had no previous acquaintance with the world of pipes and cigars and entered this valley due to the establishment of the Pasargadtabak group.

And a group that was also excited and ready to accompany this new path.

With the start of the Pasargadtabak collection and the creation of the necessary foundations and requirements at the community level, new economic situations were also created in the market, and among them, there was a group of people who profit and benefit unawareness and the old traditional market and superstitions. They publicly confronted the Pasargadtabak group and after being ignored by the collection, which was one of the management and work policies of the group, because Mastro Rahimi knew what was behind these destructions. This outlaw group also threatened many members of the collection. Maestro Rahimi had recognized the reason for his activities for the campaigns of no hookah, cigarettes, vaping, and Montpellier Maple pipe, so he altered the target for the Pasargadtabak collection.

And threats turned into opportunities, and carpenters turned into pipe makers. They went to the common people and started working at the common level of society with the intention of being able to continue to maintain their profit and financial benefit by relying on their old and superstitious system.

Another group, who are always present in the financial markets, were the group of surfers who were trying to earn financial profit in all ups and downs and in every direction, and even people who have no knowledge of the world of pipes and tobacco and only formed because of the temptation of prosperity. They entered this market, but of course, the presence of this group was short and unstable, just like the wave they were riding.

There were other groups who seriously entered the market with the help of this boom and new opportunity, and a handful of people were also successful.

And there was a group of big financiers who saw the presence of the Pasargadtabak group as a danger to them and publicly announced their dissatisfaction and a group who also expressed their dissatisfaction in secret.

The Pasargadtabak collection has never and will not destroy anyone, and slander has no place in the collection. But Mastro Rahimi has always been and will be active in campaigns of no to smoke, no to vape, no to hookah, no to alcohol, no to drugs, etc.

The basic material for making pipes is briar wood, and Montpellier Maple wood is not and will not be approved by us.

Considering the educational goals and the transfer of knowledge and information from Mastro Rahimi and Master Kamran to the Iran Pipe Association and the inclusion of basic training on the main site of Pasargadtabak, this knowledge was easily available to everyone, in the meantime, some people entered into friendship and they had no intention other than obtaining personal profit and benefit, and in some cases, they also intended to damage the collection, while Mastro Rahimi always gave the pipe makers information and solutions to start their path without any need for deception and unstable friendship.

And some people who, for various reasons, were sometimes with us along this path, in opposition, and sometimes ineffective. With all these problems and the need to always make the right decision in the face of this wide and different range of people, this group never realizes its path and the goal it has in front of it and considers it a mission for itself and is nothing but the spread of culture, science, and expertise. In the field of pipes, tobacco, and cigars, and has not violated or failed in keeping with the world events.

In this regard, the creation of various internet websites, and presence in different social media on various platforms, in order to produce scientific and up-to-date content and make it available for free to the public, requires the most time, cost, and human labor. Mastro Rahimi and Master Kamran have done a great service to the pipe and cigar society of Iran.

Mastro Rahimi’s activities about campaigns against hookah etc. were very costly and caused much damage. When Mastro Rahimi started designing and making the first Iranian pipe with basic materials in 2015 (1394), no one believed that the path would reach a point where Mastro Rahimi would become a sample for other pipe makers and hardworking woodworkers and carpenters of the country who turn to these special handicrafts. Mastro Rahimi, the first original designer and manufacturer of pipes in Iran, has always been a supporter of Iranian pipe makers.

The subject of the first Iranian hand-rolled cigar with Cuban tobacco leaf was just a dream, and after years of research (about 8 years) and a very limited amount of Cuban tobacco leaf, in 2019, Maestro Rahimi succeeded in producing a very limited Iranian cigars. And this dream came true! Iranian cigars are produced by hand and are very limited, and it will not be easy to continue this path due to the preparation of its material, which is Cuban tobacco leaf.

A challenging, difficult, and long path that started with a decision and has continued for more than a decade since its beginning, and it has been trying to make progress every day compared to the past in different fields with hope and trust. Despite all the unkindness, meanness, enmity, and abuses, it will continue forward with all its strength and a bright future, and as the first, in the world of pipes, tobacco, cigars, relevant tools, and products. In the recent history of Iran, the name of Pasargadtabak complex under the management of Maestro Rahimi has been documented forever.

Also, after a long time of about 8 years, the dream finally became a reality. The process of research, gaining experience, and preparing the necessary facilities and raw materials, finally the first hand-rolled cigar prepared from the best Cuban tobacco leaves was unveiled in Iran by Mastro Rahimi in a limited way.

Also, the luxury product line of Pasargadtabac and Mastro Rahimi was launched in memory of Mastro Rahimi’s dear iguana named Woody in November 2021. This line of special products is produced with great precision and skill using the highest quality materials until today. All these products have the iguana mark. Woody was gone in 2021.

One of the goals of the Iran Pipe Association is to raise awareness about smoking and not to encourage smoking. Today, the Pasargadtabac group is indebted to the activities of the respected members of the Iran Pipe Association management team and the teamwork of esteemed mentors such as Mastro Kamran and other loved ones.
